As requested by previous retreat participants, there will be an English social hour, to give you time to catch up, chat with old and new friends, so that you can then delve into Spanish the rest of the weekend. 

You are welcome to look up words, and ask for help if you feel too stuck, but the idea is to stay in Spanish. 

The more you can stick to Spanish, the quicker you'll feel the transition in your brain to thinking in Spanish that very weekend!

The weekend is designed to be suitable for students with a beginner through intermediate level of Spanish. 

All activities are interactive and designed to be understood through immersion instruction methods, making sure that you can follow along and participate no matter your level.

There will be mini lessons, visual aids, and vocabulary lists before each activity so that everyone can follow along.

The retreat officially starts at 10AM on Friday, September 11th and ends at 3PM on Sunday, the 13th. You will be entirely taken care of during the full weekend of the retreat.

However, accommodations only are available Thursday night (no food or activities will be available until the retreat kicks off at 10).

If you'd like to arrive the night before, let me know by September 1.

Games and activities will be differentiated so that everyone is challenged according to their level. 

Beginners will be able to cue off visuals, vocabulary lists, and slow instruction; while intermediate learners will expand their vocabulary and broaden their speaking skills by re-explaining and checking in for understanding.

Intermediate students will be able to expand their skills by speaking abilities through interactions with beginner learners, while beginner learners will expand their comprehension and speaking abilities.

There is no more powerful way to learn than by teaching.

For this reason, every participant has the opportunity to lead a class fully in Spanish.

Prior to teaching, you will receive two complimentary calls with me, to help you set up a plan, and then teach me your class as final practice.

Though our retreat starts on Friday, the house will be available on Thursday night if you are traveling form out of state and need a place to stay the night before. 

Please note that the retreat does not start until Friday at 10, so there will be no group meals or activities provided.

Let me know if you are coming from out of town, and I will let you know if anyone else is able to carpool with you!

My partner (and Spanish student!) Toby will be our personal chef and can prepare you meals that meet your allergy needs. Make sure to let us know of your needs/allergies by August 1

Due to the nature of this retreat, payments are non-refundable. 

In the rare case that you need to cancel, I will do my best to help fill your spot. If your spot is filled, your payment will be refunded (minus the initial non-refundable deposit).
